IEM Global Challenge Tournament Update

IEM Global Challenge Tournament Update

Dear CS:GO Fans,

We've made the decision to transition the IEM Global Challenge to a single division online competition involving all the qualified teams. With daily increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases across Europe and Germany entering a national lockdown, there are now restrictions in place that prevent us from operating the tournament as we had intended. We will support all 8 teams to find suitable facilities within Europe where all 5 players and their coach can play together and compete in one global division where the winner will take home a large part of the $500,000 prize pool and a point towards the Intel Grand Slam on December 15-20.

As strong as our desire to take Counter-Strike competition back to where it needs to be, is our desire to protect the health, safety and well-being of our players, broadcast talent and ESL crew. We will now turn our attention and resources to creating the best possible viewing experience for the fans at home to tune into:

✍🏻 Improving our broadcast content to bring you all the stories, memes & more
📷 Sending each team an unified hardware kit to enhance the broadcast
🎁 Giveaways, Sub Gifts and free ESEA Insider during IEM Global Challenge 2020

Stay safe, stay healthy and see you all in chat,

Your ESL Team
