Intel Extreme Masters to return to Katowice for the World Championship!

We are thrilled to announce that the last stop of Intel Extreme Masters Season 10 - the World Championship - will once again be hosted at the incredible Spodek arena in Katowice, Poland. From March the 4th to the 6th 2016, we will return to the impressive stages, amazing atmosphere and thousands of passionate fans to conclude yet another season of the world's longest-running global esports tournament series.
The Intel Extreme Masters World Championship will see the best teams and players from around the globe battling it out for a prize pool of over US$350,000, which will be broken down as follows:

  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive: a minimum of US$250,000
  • League of Legends: a minimum of US$100,000


Michał Blicharz, VP of Pro Gaming at ESL, said of the event:
"It's been an incredible ten seasons of the Intel Extreme Masters, and the grand finals to each season - the World Championship - has truly established itself as one of the main events in the calendar of any esports fan. This year's event in Katowice was one of the largest the esports industry has ever seen. With the return of Counter-Strike to the main stage, expanded EXPO part and increased prize money, IEM World Championship in 2016 will be even better."
The Intel Extreme Masters World Championship in Katowice will not only be another outstanding esports tournaments but also an impressive expo featuring multiple games and gaming-related companies showcasing the very latest technologies and products. For this event, the expo will be expanded to encompass over 8,000 square meters, making the 2016 Intel Extreme Masters World Championship the largest esports event in the world to date.
We are looking forward to welcoming the world's best gamers and thousands of passionate fans to the Spodek arena on March the 4th, 5th and 6th next year. Admission to the event will be free of charge however, due to the enormous popularity of Intel Extreme Masters Katowice, fans will be able to purchase tickets enabling earlier entrance.
