After the qualification process for Intel Extreme Masters New York had started with the European qualifiers in the end of August, the eight players to qualify for the event have been determined after today's Final Asian Qualifier, which saw the best of China, South East Asia and Korea battle for two spots. Just two weeks ago, the American participants had been determined in a US and an overall Americas qualifier respectively.
Final Asian Qualifier
The qualification process that took place in South East Asia, China and Korea saw some of the biggest names fall, while others rose. As such, players such as Jaedong, INnoVation, First and many more took part, but fell to the two players that then went on to win the Final Qualifier with all the best players of the region - Zest and Curious.
Composed of some of the best players in the entirety of America's and Europe's WCS, as well as Korean underdog Zest, the list of participants is quite diverse. Joining these eight will be another eight players - four from the Open Bracket and another four that will be seeded according to their WCS rankings. The sixteen players will face each other to secure themselves a portion of the $25,000 and all-important WCS points.
Intel Extreme Masters New York
Once again the Intel Extreme Masters will make their way to New York in 2013. After a successful event in 2011, we will bring the world's best gamers in StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm to New York to play for $25,000 as well as all-important WCS points. The event will take place at New York Comic-Con, October 10-13.
