 Today we announce that the second Global Challenge of the Intel Extreme Master III will not be held in New York City, USA, since the Digital Life Trade Fair has been canceled. Therefore the second Global Challenge can not take place in New York City. Within the next few days we will announce a replacement, which will also be located in the United States of America. The third Global Challenge of this Intel Extreme Masters season will still be held in Montreal, Canada.
Intel Extreme Masters IIIThe Intel® Extreme Masters is an eSports tournament sponsored by Intel. In the past two seasons, players in Counter-Strike 1.6, Warcraft 3 as well as World of Warcraft competing for a huge amoung of prize money. In the third season players from all over the world will play Counter-Strike 1.6 (5on5) and World of Warcraft (3on3) for a total prize money of 750.000USD. A total of nine major events will be held in North America, Asia and Europe culminating in the Global Finals in 2009.
Teams can still apply for the Global Challenge Montreal ( here) and Global Challenge Dubai ( here) and will also be able to apply for the third Global Challenge once it is announced.
